Greece is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Time, 1 hour ahead of Central European Time and 7 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. Summer time is observed from the last Sunday in April through the last Sunday in October. |

POSTAL SERVICES (ELTA) |
All letterboxes in Greece are bright yellow, as well as the signs indicating the post offices. You can buy your stamps either inside the post office or at the stamp machines outside the central post office. |

TELEPHONE SERVICES |
The cheapest way to make local and international phone calls, is buying a prepaid telephone card. You can use it to call from all public card-phones or kiosks (periptera). Alternatively walk in a OTE office (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization) and make your local or international calls from a booth. At the end of the call a desk operator will present you the bill. Those offices are open from 08.00 till 14.00 from Monday till Friday.

INTERNET CAFES |
There are plenty of internet cafes all over Greece, especially in the bigger cities but also on the major islands like Mykonos, Santorini, Lesvos, Rhodos, Crete, Corfu etc. They are good places to get your e-mail or hang out, meet other people and do things that people do when they are addicted to computers. In case you should have a problem with the computer or your mails, there is always someone available to assist. |

Be aware that August 15th is the biggest holiday of the summer and the boats and airplanes going to the islands before and coming back after that day are crowded and you will need to book in advance, especially your accommodation.
